Welcome back, and welcome to the new form area. In this area we're going to keep notes about what we've been doing, our successes, lessons we've learned, and we'll put interesting and useful links here.
This week we reviewed our Ticks & Crosses and assessments - our best set ever! We also researched a news article and came up with some summaries.
This week we performed our form assembly. The boys coped very well with Mr. Weston's laptop crashing moments before we were supposed to begin. A huge thanks to Matt Shaw for planning and coordinating the whole thing, and many thanks to all the boys for the work they put in to research and practice. Ravi continued his videoing project. On Wednesday we sumamrised some news articles. On Friday we learned and played InSpeaquence
This week was a little unusual. No year assembly on Tuesday, Business day on Wednesday, and PSHE day on Thursday. Some really pleasing reports about hard work.We had a bit of silliness with elastic bands and pellets on Thursday but fortunately the boys were really sensible and gave them up when an amnesty was announced!
This week we saw an assembly from the sixth form about how young people are sometimes called "the lost generation", and 8T did a great year 8 assembly on magic. On Wednesday we had a presentation from Austen, Amar and James Hopkins explaining to the form how to be the first to get remote access to school computers. We are due to use the Astroturf in Friday registration (frost permitting).
We won! In a very tightly fought competition, we just pipped 8N to the post to be crowned 2011 Year 8 Apprentice winners. We won three of the tasks and scored well in the rest. Watch this space for some of the write-ups that we did in form time.
